Any household can benefit from the vibrant colour and lovely natural touch that houseplants bring. And even though not everyone has a green thumb, there are many options that are beginner-friendly that everybody may enjoy. Here are nine of our favourite indoor plants that require little care.

1. Devil’s Ivy (Pothos)

Devil's ivy is one of the simplest plants to care for because it grows quickly and comes in so many wonderful hues and patterns. It is a great option for gloomy environments because it can thrive in low light. It can purify the air in your home by eliminating contaminants like benzene, formaldehyde, xylene, and toluene. It was famously utilized in NASA's Clean Air Study.

2. Snake Plant

Another excellent option that may thrive in any environment is the well-known snake plant, which can grow in almost any lighting situation. It is visually attractive, producing charming little, fragrant blooms as well as long, succulent leaves with exquisite patterns. It may go 4 to 6 weeks without water during the winter because it grows slowly, you won’t need to repot it too often.

3. Air Plants (Tillandsia)

You don't enjoy using dirt or potting your plants. You should try air plants! As their name implies, they may grow anywhere that receives bright, indirect light and don't require any soil. They can be shown in an ornamental bowl, mounted on driftwood, or even hung from fishing line. Just soak them in a basin of room-temperature water for 20 to 30 minutes, then shake them dry, to hydrate them. It doesn't get much simpler to maintain indoor plants than this.

4. Aloe

For novice gardeners who adore succulents but struggle to maintain cacti, aloe is perfect. While some succulents prefer direct sunlight, this one thrives in strong indirect light. It won’t mind if you forget to water it from time to time, and, as a bonus, you can use the sap to heal burns or cuts.

5. ZZ Plant (Zamioculcas)

The ZZ Plant, sometimes referred to as Zanzibar Gem, is a great option for novices. This resilient plant can withstand mild drought, low humidity, and low light. As a result, it is a great option for both offices and residences. Go for the ZZ Raven, a cultivar with glossy, nearly black foliage, if you want something truly distinctive.

6. Chinese Evergreen (Aglaonema)

Chinese Evergreens are the ideal plant for dimly lit spaces. It is unpretentious, resistant to the majority of pests and illnesses, and comes in a variety of hues, including vibrant pink and purple as well as creamy white. This resilient plant, like Devil's Ivy, was employed by NASA for their Clean Air Project.

7. Flamingo Flower (Anthurium andraeanum)

The Flamingo Flower is easy to care for and blooms all year long in brilliant colours. It requires a soil mixture that drains well, plenty of direct sunlight, and regular fertilizing in the spring and summer. It can also eliminate dangerous indoor pollutants like formaldehyde and ammonia, and it was included in NASA's Clean Air Study.

8. Spider Plant

A fast-growing, very low-maintenance plant that may flourish in any home is the spider plant. Also, it is pet-safe, making it a great option for anyone who have curious canines. Also, it will generate "pups" that are simple to propagate and make wonderful presents for your gardening-newbie pals.

9. Moth Orchids (Phalaenopsis)

Contrary to what many people think, these orchids are simple to take care of. Give them a nice soak once a week, plant them in sphagnum moss or orchid bark, and maintain them in bright indirect light. Just clip the old stem above a node once the blossoms have withered. After a few months, the plant will develop a new stem that will bear fresh flowers.
